French Pedicure

How to get the corporate glamorous look for feet with French pedicure!

There has always been a regime for keeping feet clean but with pedicure, cleanliness and attractiveness is attained in one inoculation. The name, pedicure is derived from Latin word pedis which means ‘foot’ and cura means ‘care’. The nitty-gritty of any pedicure is the same- soaking, smoothing, pampering and polishing. The prime difference between a normal pedicure and a French pedicure is the application of French nail paint.

How do we achieve that corporate glamorous look for our feet?

Different from the other pedicures, in French pedicure tips of the nails are painted white and rest of the nails are painted either pearl or pink to give them a classic and ideal corporate look. French pedicure is followed by the basic pedicure fundamental that is cleaning of the feet.

The steps

·        First step is to soak feet in warm water with Epsom salt. Epsom salt makes feet soft and clean.

·        Exfoliating skin with pumice stone is good however; keeping in mind the sensitivity of women skin is equally important as excessive rubbing of pumice stone can peel of the skin.

·        Massage some good body or hand lotion on the feet, between toes, cuticles and also on the legs to attain the complete recreation effect.

·        Cut off the dead skin of feet or push the cuticles gently with cuticle trimmer.

·        Soak feet in luke warm water and apply a good lotion on feet. Do the gentle message on the feet.

For a French pedicure, nails should be full-grown or grown a bit. Nails can be given a shape by either squaring them off or rounding them off.  However, a square shape works better in French pedicure to get an even line for the white paint.

Once nails are trimmed, the final step is to apply the nail paint itself.

The base coat

Base coat is applied in one even layer to all toes. Let it dry for about two minutes.

The white tip

The most complicated job is to apply the white paint on the tip of the toe nails. A thin smooth white line is to be applied on the tip of the toes. The white line application should neither be too big nor too small.

The final base

The last step in French pedicure is to apply another layer of the base paint coat. It is important to first ensure that nails are completely dry out. A thin layer of pink or mauve or pearl paint which ever has been used as your base coat, is to be reapplied over the ten toe nails. This brings about a neater and cleaner look to the women nails.

French pedicure can be performed at the comfort of your own home if all steps are followed correctly. It is also important to have the accessibility of necessary tools. French pedicure kits are easily available at the body shop or beauty salons. Epsom salt solution and cuticle trimmer can also be purchased from the beauty shops.

However, if you are in a mood to have your feet pampered rather than indulging your own self to pamper them, all good beauty saloons and spas offer French pedicure. This would be one way of gratifying your desire to rejuvenate yourself.
